As the poet said, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” With the proper care, your rolling pins and other woodenware will only become more beautiful with use throughout the years and will be an heirloom, just as pleasing as the day you first held it, for the next generation.
- After use, simply wipe down with a damp rag. If something is stuck to the pin a plastic kitchen scraper may be gently used at an angle to the pin.
- Aggressive scraping will damage the surface. DO NOT USE SOAP OR SUBMERGE IN WATER, as this will strip the wood of oils and cause it to dry out and crack.
- After wiping clean, oil the wood with a food safe oil such as mineral oil or our very own Hub City Beeswax Brew.
- Oiling after every use will ensure that your pin never dries out.
